[2020]This design study explores the opportunities for an ecological development of Amsterdam North. How can the task of 50,000 homes contribute to more biodiversity while limiting and compensating for CO2 emissions offset? The design exploits the ecological potential of the three urban zones in North and involves Waterland in capturing CO2. The proposal includes the construction of four new compartmentalisation dykes, raises the level locally, provides for local fruit and vegetable production and exploits the IJ as a connecting, ecological factor. | with Andrej Badin and Thijs de Zeeow | for Gemeente Amsterdam
